Once a year, or every 10,000 to 12,000 km if you are on the road a lot, whichever comes first. A service covers brakes, bearings, couplings, lights, tyres and seals, and it is the easiest time to catch a small leak or a tired battery before it turns into a big bill. If you are heading off on a long trip, book it in beforehand.

You can also call 027 297 3776, but the phone is not always answered while we are under a van, so email is quicker. We are appointment only, so please do not just turn up. Booking ahead means your van gets a proper slot and our full attention.

An Electrical Warrant of Fitness is the certificate that says the 230 volt wiring in your van is safe to plug into mains power. Campgrounds will ask to see one before you connect to their power, and it needs renewing every four years. We test and issue them in the workshop, and any new solar or electrical work we do gets one on completion.

Yes, but usually as part of a bigger job. If your van is in with us for a repair or an install, we will sort the WOF, EWOF and gas cert at the same time so it leaves with everything signed off. If you only need a cert on its own, email us and we will point you to one of the mobile certifiers we work with. It is generally quicker than waiting for a workshop slot.

Webasto, Eberspächer and all the main brands, installed properly, sealed, vented and secured. We also repair and service heaters that have stopped working. If you have already bought a heater yourself, get in touch before you book so we can check it is one we can fit.

The rules changed in 2023 and the old blue self-containment warrants are no longer valid. To be certified self-contained a van now needs a fixed toilet and the new green warrant card issued through a certification authority. If you are not sure whether your van will pass, send us a few photos and we will tell you what it needs and do the work.

Yes, from a single panel to a full lithium setup, and we fix systems that are not charging like they should. We size the system to how you actually travel rather than selling you the biggest panel that fits the roof, and it gets an EWOF on completion so it is certified the day it is fitted.

Yes. Tell your insurer you want RV Dreams to do the work and send us the claim number, and we deal with the insurer directly from there. That covers accident, storm and water damage, resealing windows, hatches and seams, and floor, wall and roof rebuilds.
